QUART is an ongoing project that arose from a collaboration with the Mallorca based manufacturer Huguet. It is specialized in architectural elements made from terrazzo. Inspired by their bespoke production model, the aim was to create a customizable system for washbasins.
Once the customers configure their own design, with an online interface, a modular mould system is easily arranged for the casting. The result is a unique monolithic washbasin.

DUO is an urban bike created for Scott Sports. It's a global design of a commuter's bike focused on providing carrying solutions by integrating functionality into the frame.
The wrapping bag is fitted to a custom frame to allow the rider to store belongings on the way. The bag is partially elastic to adjust and fit a jacket within the frame. It also has a waterproof pocket. As it is easy to clip in and out, one can comfortably carry it after parking the bike. The textile rack in the back has a double storing system. In addition to elastic bands to attach bulky objects, it is also equipped with a stretchy textile envelope for smaller objects.
The project arises from a collaboration between Scott Sports, known for their high end sport bicycles (mountain and road), and ECAL to develop a new concept for commuter-style city bikes.

VOLETS is bathroom mirror with a self - supporting structure that rests on the wall. The free - standing structure has been specifically designed to avoid any damage to the walls of the historical apartment. A single sheet of polished stainless steel mirror is self - folded to create two flaps and a shelf. An additional fold allows the mirror to hang on the structure by itself, without the need of additional attachments. The same support system is also used in the magnetic poster stand, placed on the corridor to announce the exhibition.
ECAL masters class was invited to develop and present an exhibition of objects designed for an apartment in Le Corbuiser’s legendary Cité Radieuse.
The work was developed specifically for Appartement 50, the preserved and protected apartment within the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille, France. We began with vast research of Le Corbusier's work and life, and in the fall of 2014 we visited the monumental building. The pieces were exhibited during the summer of 2015 in the original apartment.

ECAL with Matteo Gonet
In collaboration with Stanislaw Czarnocki.
Included in ECAL's research program "Heart of Glass", this project explores the use of alternative materials as moulds for firing glass in a kiln. In collaboration with Matteo Gonet glass workshop, we run three rounds of experiments with different high temperature resistant material. We focused our tests on creating the mould by layering different isolation fiber plates cut by CNC. This technique was used by Baker Wardlaw to create the central pieces of the "Heart of Glass" exhibition held on ELAC February 2015.
